When Steph contacted me wanting to do their next family session at the beach I was immediately on board. I’ve photographed their family for years in Scottsdale and was so excited to get them out on the beach in Newport, California while they were on vacation.

It was a chilly and early wakeup call as we met at 6:30 am but I am pretty sure we can all agree it was worth it!  Shooting in Scottsdale I typically prefer evening light as it is softest but the beach, I love the mornings.  They are quiet and calm and it just has a positive effect on everyone.

Grayson and Quinn are always a ton of fun.  One reason I love shooting on the beach is that the kids are just having so much fun and the parents are so much more relaxed, especially if it is at the end of a nice weeklong vacation.

I always love what Steph puts together for their family. Perfectly coordinated with the beach backdrop in mind but not too matchy.  Steph’s  dress was from Free People and was the perfect peachy coral color.  Quinn’s outfit was from the cutest little local beach boutique called Will and Frida.  I am obsessed with their simple boho style.  We kept it easy with a little top knot in her hair and let her whispy bangs fly in the ocean breeze.

With so many sessions under my belt  with this gorgeous family,  this day in particular  I felt such an ease and special connection between Steph and Tommy and there babies. They were so relaxed and just really enjoying their moments together as a family.  A few sandy hands and salty kisses couldn’t stop these sweet moments between them.

These are the moments we live for. The memories we create and the bonds we share.  I am so blessed to be able to document these moments.
